About the Artist:
DeRosier is a native of the Southeast having his roots in Atlanta, Georgia. He has always been inspired by the cityscapes and urban culture, which peppers the surrounding environment he grew up in...accompanied by his sense of spirit which he attributes to his familiar influences. DeRosier creates graphic painterly images that speak of many themes at once, yet communicate a cohesive, emotion and transcendent picture. His works combine various elements of collage and lush colorful applications of paint which sometimes elude to his passion for landscape and at other times of poetic abstract juxtapositions. DeRosier's influences range from Picasso to the antiquity of Italian architecture and contemporary design. He remarks, "my goal as a painter is to invite the viewer into my eyes for a glimpse of that moment when piece comes to fruition...in hopes that this moment will create a memory of absolute visual harmony."
